What is the difference between a classic cigarette and heated tobacco?
Now you have great possibilities. You can move from classic cigarettes to electronic ones. Or discover the world of heated tobacco.
Let's explain the basic differences between a classic cigarette and heated tobacco. Is it just a trend or really a way to less harmful tobacco use?
Cigarette smoking is the most common form of tobacco use worldwide. It is wrapped in cigarette paper, the cigarette can be supplemented with a filter and other chemical additives. After ignition, the user inhales tobacco smoke, including all flue gases and solid particles formed by combustion. It thus introduces dozens of types of tar flue gases. The temperature of the burning tobacco is between 600 °C and 850 °C.
What is heated tobacco?
From the name it is clear that the user will not be deprived of tobacco. This is the basic building block of the fillings that are inserted into the heating device. In this case, the tobacco is then heated to a temperature of about 350 °C, thereby releasing an aerosol, which is then inhaled by the user. This smoke contains nicotine and an intense tobacco taste, but no harmful substances from combustion get into it. From heated tobacco, you get everything you like on cigarettes, but with a significantly lower risk *.
Znamená to, že zahřívaný tabák neškodí zdraví?
Unfortunately, that doesn't mean it. Tobacco itself is one of the addictive substances that do not benefit human health. However, when smoking cigarettes, you also inhale flue gases and small particles created by burning into your lungs. Tobacco refills do not burn, but only heat up, so they expose their users to up to 94% ** less selected harmful substances than regular cigarettes. So you can enjoy the taste and effects of tobacco with a significantly lower risk.
Does heated tobacco have any pluses?
Compared to traditional cigarettes, we undoubtedly find many advantages in products based on heated tobacco. In addition to the already described smoke without tar flue gases, we can name, for example, the smell. Forget the pungent smell of burnt tobacco, because when you heat the tobacco, you only exhale steam without a strong smell. Your non-smoking friends will thank you for significantly reducing the consequences of their secondhand smoke.
*Heated tobacco products still contain tobacco and are not without risk, but potentially offer a less harmful alternative to cigarettes. Their use is recommended only for adult smokers.
**Our opinion is based on the results of tests performed by Imperial Brands' Group Non-Routine Analytics Laboratory Service in Germany, which is an accredited laboratory (DAkkS) and ISO (DIN EN ISO 17025).
